Gold Standard Award for Independent Financial Advice

Posted by: Administrator on 01 December 2010

We are delighted to announce that we have won the 2010 Gold Standard Award for Independent Financial Advice.

Gold Standard Award

The Awards aim to identify financial services companies that demonstrate a strong business structure and excellent customer-orientated practices. Managing Director, John Chapman, received the award at the House of Commons in London last night.

Now in their eighth year, the Gold Standard Awards are one of the toughest Awards to achieve in financial services. Torquil Clark is the only IFA to win this award for seven consecutive years. The Awards take into account financial strength and assess areas such as trust, fair value, service as well as capability to conduct business. They are designed to identify companies that not only have strong structures and procedures in place, but are going above and beyond standard business practices to offer customers the best possible experience when using financial services or buying financial products.

John Chapman, Managing Director said "We are proud to win the Gold Standard Award as it recognises that despite now being a Chartered firm of financial planners, we are still able to exceed expectation with the service we provide to our clients. The assessment for this award is rigorous, so marks a real achievement for the company"

Commenting on the Awards chair of the judging panel, Deborah Benn, says, "The financial landscape in the UK is changing rapidly. Consumers now need a more indepth measure of what is a good company to do business with and we believe the Gold Standard Awards provides this. We assess a wide range of areas such as staff training and development to see how serious a company is about providing good service; whether or not it is a good company to work for and the likelihood of retaining good staff; transparency of fees and costs, as well as asking for solid evidence of how embedded Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) actually is in every day practise."
