Anthony Bolton's Return  (03 Feb 2010 15:03 PM)

Fidelity has announced that their forthcoming China Special Situations Fund, which sees the return of fund manager Anthony Bolton, will take the form of an Investment Trust.

Fidelity have taken this decision in order to cap the size of the fund, however, there are repercussions to this close-ended structure for investors wanting to invest in this fund.

Investment Trusts have a more complicated structure than the more widely used OEIC and Unit Trust and this may put off the average UK investor.  The close-ended nature of the fund will only give investors a limited time to invest, and as a result of their demand-based pricing, the fund may be priced at a premium on launch.

Investors considering this fund because of the track record of Anthony Bolton should be aware that he has only committed to managing the fund for two years.

We will continue to keep you updated.
