Why the Cheapest Insurer Isn’t Necessarily the Best

Deciding which insurer to place your life insurance application with is just a matter of picking the cheapest… right?
Well not always. You see prices for life insurance have fallen steadily over the last 10 years and have never been cheaper. Whilst this is largely good for the consumer there is an important trade off… fewer people are being accepted at standard rates.
This is because the profit margins for insurers have been squeezed lower by the falling rates, which means that they are less willing to cover anyone with any kind of adverse medical history than they were some years ago.
If you have any existing medical conditions, a family history of hereditary illness, are significantly overweight or have a high risk occupation/hobby then you need to make sure that you place your application with the insurer that is most sympathetic to your circumstances.
