Challenging Times for Investors

This is such a challenging time for investors. Every instinct screams at us to sell, get out, move to safer pastures. But then who gains from that? Certainly not our clients, as they lose money and then miss out on the next market upswing, causing two sets of headaches.
This is the very nature of investing in stockmarkets and you cannot receive higher returns without taking on additional risk, it simply isn’t that easy. There is no such thing as gain without the pain, and this is exactly what we are witnessing now.
Those investors who do well out of these times stand firm, ride the waves and then look to invest more when the markets are lower.
If you need access to capital quickly, then that is a different matter and you should speak to your adviser to discuss your position further. However, this is not the case for most people, and we simply need to sit tight and wait for markets to settle back down. The issue going forward will be which areas of the globe provide the biggest opportunities and I am looking forward to the challenge.
