Update: Fidelity Special Situations Fund Changes

September 20th, 2006

Back in June we commented on the proposed changes to Fidelity’s Special Situations Fund.

As a result of a successful vote by shareholders, last weekend the Special Situations Fund was split into two separate funds. Half of the funds were put into the new Global Special Situations Fund with the other half remaining in the original fund.

If you are an existing fund holder, the number of units you hold in the original Special Situations fund will not change, but the value of the units has been halved to reflect the reduction in the size of the fund. However, for every unit you hold in the Special Situations Fund you will receive one unit in the new fund.

Fidelity will be providing fund holders with confirmation of their holdings in both funds shortly.
